hey everyone! this is a quick post to remind you that a holiday/christmas contest is underway and we would love to see all of your submissions! the deadline had been extended to the 20th of jan so get cracking!
a reminder of the rules follows;
like our last contest, the judges will be choosing the winners on;
60% on creativity
20% on artistic ability (And grammatical correctness if you are submitting a story)
20% on overall impact of the piece
So we want to see your most creative drawings, literature, sculptures etc!
ANY medium of art is acceptable but please do not submit any sexual themes, use strong language in your work or any Ideologically Sensitive stuff. Please try to keep it G friends. ONE SUBMISSION PER PERSON. SUBMIT TO OUR NEW FOLDER, ENTITLED "Contest entries" As this is a end of year holiday themed contest we would like to see that the submissions have a christmassy, fairy lights, hanukkah, new year etc based theme.
a quick summery of rules:
-happy holiday themed (christmas, new year, hanukkah etc)
- must be placed in the correct folder
-must have at least one dragon
-may be any type of work (painting, writing etc)
- G- rated
-one submission per person
- the caption of the work or title must say that the work if for the dragon nation contest
- the work must be created specifically for the contest
Also if you want to submit prizes please note us as all contributions will be very well received.

Looking for fairly active to very active members to help vote on submissions! It seems like most of our team has fallen out of dA, and I'm unsure how many of us are left. Even if you can only get on once a week to vote on submissions, the help would be greatly appreciated!
What I'm asking for:
- On dA at least once a week, long enough to vote on submissions.
- Member of dA for at least 1 year.
- Make sure you are familiar with the rules.

Discord and Submission Update
First of all, I want to announce that the votes for submission entries should be one across the board now to help things keep flowing. For some reason, some staff can't see all submissions so they were getting 0 votes or 1/2 needed to be accepted, but not being passed. Having one vote should help with this since 99% of the time someone seems to be able to see it. Please let me know if your submissions from this point on still expire! I'll go tinker with more settings if I have to.

An update on DN on dAmn
So, for those of you who are still interested in joining DN's main chat on dAmn, unfortunately DN is being affected by something that's going on in dAmn. Currently if you leave the chat at all, then you will not be able to rejoin, if you try you will automatically be disconnected with dAmn.
I have already informed the dA admins of what's going on, though I of course don't know how long it will be until a solution is found, nor do I know of how the progress is going to find solutions for this one and other problems currently facing the dAmn.
I will continue to keep an eye on things and try to join the chatroom every now and then. If I'm ev

Ok, Jex-LumiKhoth here. I live, not dead yet for those that don't join the chats. I've started up a Discord chat for DragonNation as a current alternative to the dAmn chatroom.
This was done because dAmn just isn't used nearly as much as it used to be, and I imagine that at some point in time dA will close it down permenantly.
I also want to emphasize THE DN CHAT ON DAMN IS NOT BEING CLOSED DOWN, NOR IS THIS A REPLACEMENT this is simply an alternative and you are in no way required to join both.

I will be unable to finish, but it was basically going to be a Santa Dragon leaving an egg for a happy set of dragon parents (like Merry Christmas have a baby!) Reasons for not finishing: 1. I'm sick, 2. I lost 2 days of work thanks to a small glitch on my computer where it didn't save properly.
